Out with the old, in with the newIn the past few years, ITIL has gradually transformed to meet the needs of a modern IT world. ITIL V2, a well-respected ITSM program for many years, has been updated to incorporate the latest industry expertise and knowledge in the ITIL Qualification Scheme. As a result, ITIL V3 was introduced in 2007 as a replacement for ITIL V2. Since then ITIL V3 has been improved, refined and is now in wide acceptance in the global market. The withdrawal plan for ITIL V2 is a result of feedback from the IT sector and training community gathered as part of market research conducted by the ITIL Qualifications Board.
